2. Eligibility
You must be:

- Capable of entering into a legally binding contract under Indian law
- A resident of India or authorized to use our services in your jurisdiction
3. Account Registration

- You must provide accurate, current, and complete information
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
- You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
3.2 Account Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that:
- Violate these Terms
- Engage in fraudulent activity
- Abuse the platform or other users
- Remain inactive for extended periods
4. Services Provided
IASOwl provides:
- UPSC Mains answer writing practice platform
- AI-powered answer evaluation (“Basher AI”)
- 3-hour lockdown mode for focused practice
- Progress tracking and analytics
- Question bank covering GS1-GS4 and Essay papers
5. Subscription and Payment
5.1 Pricing
- Subscription fees are displayed on our platform
- Prices are in Indian Rupees (INR) and include applicable GST
- We reserve the right to modify pricing with 30 days’ notice
5.2 Payment Terms
- Payments are processed through secure third-party gateways
- Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled before the renewal date
- All fees are non-refundable except as stated in our Refund Policy
5.3 Financial Accountability (“Blood Pact”)
- Optional feature requiring upfront deposit
- Forfeited amounts for incomplete sessions are non-refundable
- By opting in, you acknowledge and accept the loss aversion mechanism
6. User Conduct
You agree NOT to:
- Share your account credentials with others
- Use the platform for any illegal purpose
- Attempt to bypass lockdown mode or security features
- Copy, distribute, or reverse-engineer our content or software
- Submit plagiarized or inappropriate content
- Harass, abuse, or harm other users or our staff
- Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) without permission
7. Intellectual Property
7.1 Our Content
All content on IASOwl (questions, evaluation algorithms, design, branding) is owned by us and protected by Indian copyright and intellectual property laws.
7.2 Your Content
- You retain ownership of your answer submissions
- You grant us a license to use your content for evaluation, analytics, and platform improvement
- We may use anonymized data for research and marketing purposes
8. Lockdown Mode
8.1 Device Restrictions
- Lockdown mode restricts device functionality during practice sessions
- You acknowledge this is intentional and necessary for exam simulation
- We are not liable for any inconvenience caused during lockdown
8.2 Emergency Exit
- Emergency exit options are available for genuine emergencies
- Abuse of emergency exit may result in account penalties
9. AI Evaluation Disclaimer
9.1 Accuracy
- AI evaluation is provided as a learning tool, not as official UPSC assessment
- Feedback is based on algorithms and may not reflect actual UPSC examiner opinions
- We do not guarantee specific exam results or scores
9.2 No Guarantee of Success
- IASOwl is a preparation tool, not a guarantee of UPSC selection
- Your success depends on multiple factors beyond our control
- We make no warranties regarding exam outcomes
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Indian law:
- We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
- Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid in the last 12 months
- We are not responsible for third-party service failures (payment gateways, internet providers)
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold IASOwl harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from:
- Your violation of these Terms
- Your misuse of the platform
- Your violation of any third-party rights
12. Modifications to Service
We reserve the right to:
- Modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature
- Update these Terms with reasonable notice
- Change pricing or subscription plans
Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
13. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
13.1 Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India.
13.2 Dispute Resolution
- Disputes shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation
- If unresolved, disputes shall be subject to arbitration under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996
- Arbitration shall be conducted in Bangalore, India
- Court proceedings, if necessary, shall be in the courts of Bangalore, India
14. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force.
